An Icon And A Legend

Powered by the legendary Rover V8 engine block and only 2591 were built. Winning the 1963 Monte Carlo Rally (GT Class), this car is still loved by petrolheads around the globe.

All results are within the SMRC Classic Sports and Saloons series held at Knockhill Racing Circuit, Fife

2017 - Overall & Class Champion

Debuting in the Fiat X1/9 that was built from a bare shell, Alastair secured both the overall championship and the class championship.

2018 - Overall & Class Champion

A second season in the Fiat X1/9 saw the reigning champion defending the crown in style, retaining both the overall & class title.

2019 - Class Champion

A new challenge awaited as Alastair jumped into his new chariot, the MGB GT V8. Alastair was able to retain the Class Championship.

About Alastair

Mobirise

Alastair was surrounded by trucks and tractors during his childhood as the son of haulage contractors. As a result of this, he found himself behind the wheel since the age of 5 (in fields mostly!?).
He got a taste for speed in his early teens, when he would race around in £20 MOT failures, trying to see how fast he could make them go. 

Alastair has run a business with his brother Struan for the last 25 years, where they maintain and rent out mainly residential property which is mixed with some commercial and agricultral property as well.
Many of his days now involve decorating flats (he HATES magnolia walls!), driving a tractor or chasing sheep and cows! He has a very supportive immediate family too with Yoon-Mi, and his (sometimes) very supportive daughter Sahara along with boys Murray and Ari.
